Whether it was during the endless months of Summer break and tradition-filled weeks of Winter break, my grandpa’s house had a bond that at the time, I didn’t think would break, between my Dad, aunts, uncles, and grandparents there was trust, unity and true family love that I thought would be unconditional. My perception of this bond has now forever changed. The trust, unity, admiration, and respect between my Dad, aunts, uncles, and grandparents became distance, grudges, and eventually reconciliations. The closeness my cousins and I had also turned into distance caused by our parents. Where there once was a big family celebrating holidays, special occasions, or just the fact that the whole family was all together at once, is now a big gloomy dull and empty house taking over the joyfulness and unity that the big family used to have. The house used to be the heart of my Dad’s side of the family keeping everything and everyone together and united during the good times. However, since my Dad’s problems, Grandpa’s problems, and conflict between my family started to happen, the house that used to hold the bond between us all is now gone and it has taken with it the bond that a family once shared and treasured. My perception on what the house now holds has changed drastically like the changes that have hit the house. The traditions that were always looked forward to and dearly enjoyed by a whole family have been swapped for an empty dull house that no longer holds celebration or festivity for these once-existent traditions. The laughter, chatter and storytelling were once the heart and soul of the living room have become silent and solitariness of a gloomy dull house who is only inhabited by memories that are fading away. The family bond is now just distance between a family that once valued tradition and quality time that was spent together. My grandparents house was a place i thought i knew well and i thought would never change. Family and money related problems caused the abandonment of my Grandpa 's house. As time went that place I thought would never change, eventually became unrecognizable and all that 's left are the memories and hope that some day things will go back to the how they once
