On October 9th 1940 in Liverpool , England, air raids ravaged the area, causing devastation in its’ midst . England at the time was one of the many big powers against the spread of Nazi’s and as a result was targeted. However, encompassed in all the horror that occurred as a result of World War II, a miracle was born. That miracle would grow up to be, Beatle front man and advocator of world peace, John Winston Lennon . John aside from making world changing music, made world changing decisions that impacted such areas as the peace movement and freedom to free speech. He and Ono got married three years after they met (on March 20th 1969), and three years after he had divorced from his first wife, Cynthia . John and Ono’s first act together as a couple was in Amsterdam on their honeymoon, where they help Bed-In’s for peace . At these Bed-In’s for peace, John and Ono would primarily advocate for world peace and other controversial topics such as ending war . In December of that same year, John launched 12 billboards in largely populated cities all around the world like London and New York City. These billboards sparked controversy, as they stated, “ War is over! If you want it!” . People went crazy and John received large amounts of backlash, but also large amounts of support. After his death, not only did his hometown name the Liverpool airport after him , and a town in Iceland creating a Imagine tower that would stand for peace , but 120 world leaders and the State of New York came together to create Strawberry Fields. Strawberry Fields is a section of Central Park that is filled with flora and fauna donated from 120 peace leaders all around the world, commemorating John Lennon’s positive contributions to the world . John helped change peoples mindsets and created opportunities for the disheveled and downtrodden of the world by empowering them to change the world. He spent his entire life striving for world peace, and although he didn’t achieve that, he did take one step in the right direction and simultaneously influenced people for years to come, earning him a rightful place in
