This entry is in response to Audre Lorde's Age, Race, Class and Sex: Women Redefining Difference. This was an incredible read. Lorde's essay reads like a critique of contemporary Hollywood. Lorde touches on the subject of age which is interesting, because although intersectionality has been a significant part of this class all the other authors including Davis seem to omit the importance of age. I really would like to know why that is, as women are discriminated against on the bases of age far more than men are.…

Words have Power.” A simple sentence, but the message it contains does reveal a blunt truth: More often nowadays, perception in our communication has become tremendously skewed; to the point of becoming offended for tiny misconceptions derived from our senses. In other words, the psychological limitations we have affect how accurate we can be aware of any situation, which contributes to negative results. Fortunately, there is ongoing research to help understand this faulty ability. One illustration on this perception issue is within gender, as Sarah Picklesimer, a Communication PhD student at the University of Connecticut, explores perception accuracy in the Commpendium podcast; emphasizing the research on how gender has an impact with how we communicate to each other.…
