Winnie the Pooh is a very influential tv show to children, and always has been. A.A. Milne the author of Winnie the Pooh obviously knows this, due to how many life lessons are taught by Winnie. I feel the quote above was meant to be a way to show kids that throughout life you’ll experience people and things that will be different, but you have to accept them. People express themselves in many ways and children should know that it’s okay if they want to do something out of the ordinary. I feel that a lot of times parents don’t understand when their children are different, and their children realize this, so they change to be accepted. When I was little I loved being read this one book called Winnie The Pooh. Every night if I was not read a book I would sit in my bed and wait for someone to come in. When my little sister Lizzie was born I would sneak into her room and read her books and she would stare at me like I was showing her ice cream. When I would take a shower she would be sitting outside the shower and reading in her own little language. Writing was never my favorite thing when I was little.…

Some children are comfortable in their own skin, which allows them to happily interact with others regardless of their status or skin color. At a young age children do not see color, but as they grow into adolescence they become more aware of diversity and intolerance in the society. This is relevant in Zara Nealson’s autobiographical story “How it Feels to be Colored Me.” Zora describes her struggle of overcoming racial issues and establishing a strong base of her personal individuality. At a young age some children are open minded and have confidence to be themselves.…

As these children grow up they develop into young adults and as they continue to grow up their minds begin to understand the reality of the real world. This growing grasp of reality by young adults is often progressed through reading books that are meant for their age group. Andre Gide, a French writer, once said “It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for something you are not.” This quote explains how life should be lived, because in life you meet people who can be sham. To me it is terrible to live your life like this because you are trying to be somebody you’re not. If you live life being who you truly are, you will find happiness and be a better person, because being fake doesn’t solve anything.
