This book illustrates both preposterous humor as well as satire about the British culture. By analyzing the toy books Winnie the pooh by Alan A. Milne and Paddington Bear by Michael Bond in both their historical and cultural period, we will be able to scrutinize the values and attitudes about children and family that the stories illustrate. I choose this topic because these two toy books are classical stories that I grew up with and I would like to extensively examine these classical texts in regards to how children were view as during their time period and how this was reinforced by the kind of values that children portrayed.
