Luckily, Mike Frazier noticed the puppy's body that was glued into the tar when he was taking out his garbage, and called for help, according to MSNewsNow.
FLY Animal Rescue quickly came to help after receiving Frazier's call. Group members listened to the puppy cry out in pain as they tried to free him.
The puppy's hair ripped off as he was being pried out of the hardened tar, but the animal rescue members were able to save him.
He was wrapped in coconut oil and sedated when he arrived at the Animal Medical Center. It took days to get all of the tar off of him.
