They are simple and easy to use, therefore SWOT analysis is very famous among marketing workers. It could build detailed profiles for their company or competitors. By knowing the weaknesses of their competitors, they can take it as advantageous to beat them. On the other hand, the SWOT analysis can add value to the products and services so than the company can recruit new customers, retain customers, and extend products and services to customer segment over the long-term plan.

Wing Wah cake shop is a local food-chain store in Hong Kong. According to the data from their official website, they are now developed in to restaurants and cake shops. Hon Kong Wing Wah cake shop sells Chinese traditional cakes, Chinese wedding cake, Chinese preserved sausage, mooncake, Chinese tea and some seasonal food. They are well-known among Hong Kong people. The company can open or trade more products to other countries. Introduce their products to foreigner and let more people know what is Chinese cake. Moreover, in today’s health conscious societies, they can introduce more health-based products. For example, low sugar and low fat mooncakes. This could attract people who conscious health.

There are few threats of Wing Wah. First of all, there are a lot of competitions in the market. Their competitors sell similar type of products like Hang Heung cake shop, Maxim cake shop. Except this traditional shop, people would like to buy new or western type of cake. There are too many substitutes in the market. Other than competitors, the rent in Hong Kong is very high. They have to pay high rent for so many stores.

By using the SWOT analysis, we can see the basic information of the Wing Wah cake shop. That helps us to know how can we improve the company and avoid threats. We can use strengths to take over opportunities; use strengths to avoid threats; overcome the weaknesses by taking advantages of opportunities; minimize weaknesses and avoid threats.
