Scripting Language In Computer Programming

Computer programming has become all the rage in the recent technological boom of the 21st century. The job market for computer programmers is constantly on the rise, but most people do not actually know what programmers do. Programmers use languages to program, create, and do all sorts of things. Now on to languages, languages are usually lumped to into the same category of computer wizardry that no one can understand. On the contrary, languages can be broken down into many different genres and have their own followings saying which language is superior. The genre I will be looking at is scripting languages users, purpose, and communities view. Programmers who use scripting languages are not trying to create apps like their counterparts who …show more content…
The function for scripting languages is, “executing instructions written in a programming or scripting language, without previously compiling them into a machine language program” (Parham 2016). So essentially what makes them different for any other languages is that it skips a step and uses what is already there to make a program function faster. When using a scripting language the programmer is prioritizing the speed of the development of the app rather than how fast the app will run. Meaning that if there are bugs or hitches they can be resolved quicker but not necessarily completely solved. Which is why these languages are not as reliable as other languages when creating since they do not make their code from …show more content…
It does different things and it also takes time to actually learn it. It is not possible to grasp all the intricacies of a scripting language in a day or two. It takes time just like any other language and even if it did only take a day to master it could still be classified as a genre since genre is ever changing to include all types of activities. At the end of the day most people just lump all programming languages together as one big mesh of random numbers on a computer screen even though they all have their different qualities. Scripting languages has all what it needs to be a genre; it has specific users, purpose, and a community

Unlike many of those who enter into Computer Science programs in college I have only recently, in the last couple of years, started programming. During my senior year of high school a friend of mine and myself started playing around with C++ for fun during a vocational networking class accomplishing very little and not getting any desired results. At that time I had no clue that a couple short years later I would have a deeper understanding of proper programming methodologies and an understanding of a variety of languages to meet specific needs. It is often that you will see, or at least I have seen, when speaking to others programmers, that programmers believe that their language of choice is the language that will solve every problem that…
