Acceptance should be shown to Wind-Wolf by the teacher and enforced to be followed by the students. The teacher should not allow name calling or the students to make fun of Wind-Wolf. Labels should not be used in the classroom to separate Wind-Wolf from the other students. Parent meetings should be held to introduce the parents. Acceptance among the parents will take time and may never fully become a success, but the effort to eliminate racism should be taken.
The teacher should be patient and helpful during Wind-Wolf’s transition. The teacher should be encouraging of Wind-Wolf learning the new style of learning. He should also be supportive. The teacher should not try to change Wind-Wolf or try to call him something other than his full name, Wind-Wolf. The teacher has the responsibility of making sure his student feel welcomed in his class.
