Wimpy In Salt To The Sea

Throughout the novel Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys, Alfred is characterized as wimpy. Alfred is wimpy when he can’t even climb up the stairs to talk to Florian. “It took me quite a while to find the stairs and I was belabored of breath once I climbed them”(206).This shows that Alfred is wimpy.He is wimpy because he isn’t even fit enough to climb a ladder.This shows that Alfred is weak and he obviously doesn’t work out a lot or isn’t very fit. This gives the reader the sense that Alfred is wimpy, because he can’t even partake in a little physical activity before becoming out of breath. Next, Alfred is characterized as wimpy when he can’t handle seeing Emilia giving birth. (A)“Alfred! Run to the soldier’s ward. Get Dr. Richter. Quickly!” Emilia
