For your debris hut must be built in an ample location. A well built debris hut will be build by all the materials you seek to find, such as, leaves, sticks and maybe even some moss. Also, if you were in a serious situation, building your hut near water would be a nice place, so you wouldn't die of thirst. You do not want to build your hut in the middle of open spaces because there are no materials to use and no surrounds to blend into. For example, a dessert or open field of grass.
