I believed that you assigned us this reading for multiple reasons. One reason is that we should find a calling that we actually enjoy and that we don’t do it just for the money. If we do it just for the money we could end up depressed and have a tragic ending to our lives. Willy Loman couldn’t realize that he was chasing the wrong dream. He was in a race to catch that dream, but his lungs expired and the dream left him in the dust. As in the poem “The Road Not Taken,” we have one chance to choose the road we deem to be the best. Later in our lives we will look back, as Willy Loman has, and judge if we made the right choice.
