I’m Looking Through You, Where Did You Go? Lennon-McCartney once wrote,“You’re thinking of me, the same old way, you were above me, but not today.” Over the course of 4 weeks we read the play Death of a Salesman By Arthur Miller, the play follows a man named Willy Loman. Who goes through flashbacks quite oftenly, from talking to his dead brother to learning about the time Willy cheated on Linda. These flashbacks make selling harder and harder for Willy, never coming back with anything to show for it. Eventually Willy is pushed and his family discovers his intentions to kill himself, because he thinks Biff would be better off. Linda in part blames both of the boys for Willy’s issues and want to kill himself, never wanting to truly come to terms …show more content…

Pick up this stuff, I’m not your maid any more. pick it up you bum, you!” (Miller 124) This shows how much linda loves willy by demonstrating that she would tell both happy and biff to leave the house. Giving up on both of the boys for Willy’s love. “You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses.” Best said by Ziggy. In the end Linda has had to put up with everything from Willy trying to kill himself to Biff and Happy pushing Willy’s buttons as a caretaker. Almost trying to blame his feeling of loneliness for making him do such act. Not flat out lying to Biff about what he was doing with the lady. When it comes down to the basis of a relationship, trust is a key part of one. With Willy cheating on Linda the relationship was destined to fall flat, and with the fact that Linda almost cared for Willy too much. In conclusion, Death of a Salesman was a piece of literature that proved living the American Dream was and is not all its chalked up to be. Being successful, having plenty of money, two children, a nice wife, fulfilling job, and a perfect family, are things to work for.
