“Physicist Willy Higinbotham invents the very first video game at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, New York. His game, a table tennis like game, was played on an oscilloscope”( Kudler). It was made in 1958, which was played through an oscilloscope which is a device for viewing oscillations , as of electrical voltage or current, by a display on the screen of cathode ray tube. The history of games goes way back, people typically think of Pac-Man, Pong, And the first game is Tennis for Two. Video Games are a big part of everyday life in the world now days. There a millions and millions of people who play video games daily and some people get paid to play these video games as they provide entertainment to viewers who watch them play their games. Board games have been around so long that we don’t have any record of the first one.

The graphic difference between games in the 80’s to graphics in games now, is on a whole new level. Games now make you think you are playing a real life movie. Consoles back when they were first made, were very small in space and did not have a very long life span. Consoles now have hundreds of Gigabytes in space to hold all the games you can have, the xbox one can stay on 24/7 and last up to ten years according to the developers microsoft. Gaming is very different now and has become a part in a lot of people's everyday lives. “On average, gamers spend 22 hours a week playing games” (Siegal). Gaming will always be a part of everyday life and is here to stay because gaming will only grow. Gaming is also a good helper when it comes to hand eye coordination and problem solving skills.
