Will's Dynamic Character

Decent Essays
Will is a dynamic character because he changed throughout the course of the story. At the beginning of the story, Will was living two separate lives and feels like he has to. By the end, Will has realized that he doesn’t have to. Will no longer has the pressure on him to become a different person, depending on where he is. He is more accepting of himself and his life. He understands that he doesn’t have to fit into these lives to please other people and has come terms with all aspects of his life.

The fourth wall is the supposed imaginary wall, also know as the screen, is the thing separating the actors and what’s happening in the story there and not in the real world. Normally actors don’t give off that they are in a film but in the comedy Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, directed by John Hughes, the main character, Ferris Bueller played by Matthew Broderick, breaks the fourth wall randomly throughout his day that he skips school by faking being sick. This movie is one of the more well known films that broke the fourth wall and actually spoke to the audience, throughout the film Ferris randomly gives advice about skipping school and faking being sick. Now this comedic tale gives a surprisingly hard hitting theme in a sense. “Carpe Diem” the…

The character in a story is the main foundation in any story, essay, or any other form of writing. These characters not only give the writing a purpose, but present the irony, symbols, and conflicts in the stories. Without the main character there would not be any sort of writing. The main character may also be dynamic, which means the change as the story goes on, or they may be flat, which meants that they don’t change. From the many stories we read in our class, I fell in love with the character Rochelle, from the story “The Bride” by author Christine Granados.…

In the novel Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan, the authors use indirect characterization to help the reader understand the different layers to Tiny Cooper. The story revolves around two characters named Will Grayson who are both different in various ways. One is isolated from others, battling depression, and constantly fighting with his mother who raised him alone while the other has a good relationship with others, pessimist about love, purposefully fades in the background of life, and has a nice support system. The latter is accompanied by a best friend, who is everything he is not, named Tiny Cooper. Tiny is loud, constantly “in love”, gay, and always trying to steal the spotlight.…

At the beginning of the book it starts off with our main protagonist Hu in an asylum and you automatically get a first impression that he is “mad”. Hu wasn’t a mad person, but a person who misjudged and the relationship dynamic he had with Foucquet is what drove him to seem “mad” and there was no major change in Hu’s behavior throughout the journey in 1722. The relationship dynamic was questionable between Hu and the missionary Foucquet at first it was meant to be a business relationship. Foucquet needed someone to help decipher and transcribe Chinese religious textbooks the relationship initially began as an employer and employee relationship as “The two men draw up a written contract and signed it” (Spence,24) furthermore since Foucquet was short on time he had no other choice than to bring Hu.…

John Green and David Levithan’s young adult novel, Will Grayson, Will Grayson, is summarized as two teenage boys whom share the same name that find each other at the most unsuspecting place in Chicago. Based on this elementary summary, I thought the story would revolve entirely around two boys that become friends because of their names. However, this is just a minor plot point in the novel. The book is written in two different points of view; Will Grayson 1’s point of view on the odd numbered chapters (written by John Green), and Will Grayson 2’s point of view on the even numbered chapters (written by David Levithan).…

When it comes to character arcs, the villain can not be a static character. Though length of the story and how often the villain is mentioned in the book or movie may change how much growth this one character is able to get, he or she, being human, is always changing in some way. Confidence grows with every victory, and shrinks with every defeat. Anger, though sometimes a constant burn in the villain’s soul, explodes and subsides in fits. Tears dry up over time, and love dulls.…

Inflexible in a Flexible World Everything undergoes a change; it is uncontrollable and ultimately imminent. Specifically in today’s modern society, humans must accept change as an inevitable aspect of life as reality is known to move onward whether mankind is ready to accept this or not.
