The Family of Brother Michael Williams The textbook says, “In their efforts to understand diverse family response to stressful events, family scholars have used the ABCX model developed by Reuben Hill.” (Lauer, 2012) In applying this model to Brother Michael Williams’ experience, I would assign his brother’s illness and the decision as to whether he should remain on life support or not as the “A” in the model. This is defined as “the stressor event and the hardships it produces.”…
For tax year 2000, US taxpayer J. Bryan Williams, who had an interest in and control over his two Swiss bank accounts, failed to mark “yes” to a tax return question regarding his existing foreign bank accounts, and did not file the Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (also known as “FBAR”) by June 30, 2001, deadline. The question that arose was whether Defendant J. Bryan Williams willfully failed to report his interest in his two Swiss bank accounts for the tax year 2000. Based upon your request, I reviewed and analyzed the written decisions of both the United District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, compared the logic and reasoning of the two Courts’ decisions, and further determined which Court made the better decision.…
It was very sad to read and learn about the history of the death of Williams. First I want to describe who Williams was. His name complete was John T. Williams, and he was 50-year-old when he died. Also, he was a seventh-generation carver Nitinaht of the Nuu-chah-nulth tribe, and he was shot four times by a police officer in Seattle on August 30, 2010. Williams was walking in the streets of Seattle, and was carrying a piece of wood and a knife.…

Mr. Williams’s Insanity Case According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, out of the estimated 2,220,300 people locked up in jails and detention facilities in the US only 17% of the inmates that need mental help receive it. Therefore, there is a remainder of 83% of inmates that need mental help but don't receive it. This is an issue because all of these inmates could be considered legally insane. This matters because with just being able to prove that the inmate is insane they could be let out on the insanity plea to be able to receive the treatment that they need. To prove this you must be able to show that the person confuses fantasy with reality, he/she cannot control their impulses due to psychosis, and they have or portray…

There is no exact cause that was found to cause Wilms tumor. Scientists tried to find a link with environmental factors that the baby might have been exposed to in their mothers' womb, but failed to do so. However, there are many genetic factors that were found to increase the risk of being diagnosed with this type of cancer. Some of these include WAGR syndrome, Denys-Drash syndrome (DDS) and Frasier syndrome. In all three of these cases, there is a link between the syndrome and the mutation of a gene called the WT1 (Wilms' tumor 1) gene found on chromosome 11.…

Down syndrome Down syndrome is a genetic disorder that may alter the development of individuals. Each person that is diagnosed with Down syndrome is unique in their own way. Some may develop some of the most common characteristics associated with this disorder. According Sietske N. Heyn, PhD, some of the most common characteristics would include mild to moderate learning disabilities, distinctive facial features, and low muscle tone. However, not every person who is diagnosed with Down syndrome develops these characteristics, and even if they do, the degree in which they do can be different in every individual because they are each unique.…
Another thing people think when they hear about Asperger’s Syndrome is people with Asperger’s being extremely intelligent, like Albert Einstein or the main character of the film Rain Man. But, the IQ of people with Asperger’s can actually range from normal to extremely high (What Is Asperger Syndrome?). People with Asperger’s suffer from problems with social interactions and communication (What is Asperger Syndrome?). So, this causes a lot of problems in their social lives, causing them to become introverted most of the time. And the disorder also causes problems in relationships.…
