William Wallace What would you do for your freedom? Not just yourself, but the whole country? If you say you well do anything, then take a look at what William Wallace has done. Wallace is regraded as one of Scotland’s greatest heroes due to his drive of having his people free from the English rule. This carried him throughout and after his life. Wallace was known for many things; his brilliant military mind, the dedication to the people, and the respect he received by his men. This was due to their undivided respect for Wallace and his strong resolved to keep Scotland free. Many have been with Wallace since the victory at his home village, but more and more joined him as they heard of Wallace’s accomplishments over the English. It also could have been due to one of most memorable lines, “Your heart is free have the courage to follow it.” This sparked a lot of young men to come to the battlefield and fight with their lives to have Scotland free. This is one of the best symbols of Wallace’s overflowing personality and his great military prowess. William Wallace was a man’s man in every sense of the word. He was loved by both the citizens and his fellow soldiers, while also having a great military mind that got him the status he gained by battling the English.
