“To be, or not to be; that is the question”. Shakespeare is asking in these 6 words a question that man has pondered for centuries. Is life worth living? Is life worth the pain, suffering, and hardships that come with it? Is facing the slings and arrows of life worth it, or is it better for a person to sleep the sleep of death and never endure the pain, suffering, and hardships that this world throws towards us.
The curious story of William Shakespeare begins with his birth which for some reason is unknown still to this day, we do know that he was born in Stratford-upon-avon where he was baptised on April 26, 1564. William was the son of an alderman by the name of John

After the birth of his twins, Shakespeare left very few historical traces until he was mentioned as part of the London theater scene in 1592. The exception is the appearance of his name in the “complaints bill” of a law case before the Queen’s bench court at westminster dated michaelmas term 1588 and October 9, 1589. Scholars have named the years between 1585 and 1592 “the lost years”. Biographers are attempting to account for this period which holds so many mysteries about Shakespeare, who knows what this great author could have performed during these “lost years”, perhaps he could have written plays that were never brought to light or maybe he was used by the queen to write stories. What happened in this seven year lost period could stay a mystery forever or some evidence could rise to the surface and give the world more insight into the mysterious life of William. His most famous works are the plays that he wrote which drew in thousands of people into a dying theater era which ultimately revived the theater age and gave it new life and a new meaning. Shakespeare’s plays consisted of tragedy, romance, and comedy, Hamlet is a great example of tragedy, written on an uncertain date between 1599 and 1602. People consider this the most powerful play ever composed by Shakespeare, it is the very sad story of the son of a king (Hamlet), his father was killed by his brother by dripping a fatal poison into his ear while he was sleeping which slowly killed him and allowed Claudius, Hamlet’s uncle, to take the crown and the dead king’s wife
Gertrude. In taking the crown he gained access to all of the land and money that he desired, the quick marriage between Claudius and Gertrude made Hamlet very suspicious about his father’s murder. Hamlet then becomes mad and feels as if everyone has turned against him and he soon finds out that Claudius and Gertrude have sent his two friends Guildenstern and Rosencrantz
