Taming Of The Shrew Analysis

The play starts off with a play of a guy being told about a play to trick him to think he is a lord of the land. The story starts off with three suitors wanting to marry a very beautiful female as a prize. The only problem the suitors face is her mean older sister must be married first before anyone can claim the prize of Bianca, Katerina’s little sister. One of the suitor has a plan to trick a gentleman that has just arrived into the town to marry the shrew of the village that no one likes. In “The Taming of the Shrew”, William Shakespeare uses the actions and speech of Kate to show how the townsfolk though she was a evil ugly shrew to be the epitome of an housewife in beauty and in her actions. In the play Kate changes from being unliked and single person to becoming married and appreciated from her fellow peers and elders within the society of where she lives.
