In life, there are many ways to cherish loved ones, and show them how much they are appreciated. Sometimes, however, love and appreciation can go too far. This unique story of two lovers takes the phrase, “to die for”, to a whole new level. Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, is an elaborate tragedy about the relationship between two lovestruck teens. Romeo was born into the Montague family, and Juliet, on the other hand, was born into the Capulets. These two families were feuding with each other. The first major aspect that affected the lives of Romeo and Juliet was also the basis of the whole story. Hate thrived in the feud, and eventually, all would be punished by its poisonous rule. Foreshadowing of the tragic end was proven in the prologue before the story begun. Cited in the play was, “The fearful passage of their death-marked love and the continuance of their parents ' rage, which, but their children’s end, naught could remove” (Prologue Lines 9-12.) In death-marked love, Romeo and Juliet still lived in their parents rage. Without the feud, there would have been no reason for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet to occur.
