It sounds very graceful and calm. The way the lyrics rhyme after each stanza (excluding the only time part) makes the song flow smoothly. The lyrics fit the romantic mood rather well, seeing as most of the lines deal with destiny and love; two things that resonate very well with the story of Romeo and Juliet. In the scene itself, when Juliet is making Romeo promise he loves her (Line 85-106, Act Two Scene Two, Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare) her dialogue fits the line “Who can say if your love grows as your heart chose?” seeing as the text’s both question one’s everlasting love. Juliet’s line once again shares a connection with the song lyric with (Line 150-155, Act Two Scene Two, Romeo Juliet, Shakespeare) as she tells Romeo she will send a messenger. The line “Who can say when the roads meet that love might be in your heart?” shares a connection. “When the roads meet” symbolizes the meeting between Romeo and the messenger, and she hopes he will still love her, hence “That love might be in your heart?” Another connection that can be made between the text and lyrics is the lyric “Who can say why your heart sighs as your love flies”. The lyric can be used in several different spots because, what it means is, why is your heart sad? While your love grows. The young couple often talk very sadly when parted even for the shortest of seconds, or when about to part, even though their love for each other is growing at a rapid pace. The song really foreshadows the rest of the play very well, especially with the line “Who can say where the road goes?” because the two teenage lovers had no part in determining their untimely fate, only time did. The tragedy, Romeo and Juliet conveys that love is the answer to everything, but also the end to it all. Although Romeo and Juliet are star crossed lovers, their parents will never allow them to be, as the Capulets and Montagues have long since had a loathing towards each other. Yet their love brings them together, despite what their parents tell them to think, which leads to their short comed death, and it of those close to them. The author uses allusions and word choice to create a mood of passion, conveying that true love is full of passion and impatience. Shakespeare demonstrates the characters infatuation to be with each other through Juliet's’ soliloquy in act III with his use of diction.…

This does not possess a catchy melody, but one that has a jagged contour and great complexity, skipping up and down the piano. The voices of the characters, likewise, are required to produce many different tones in order to give more complexity to this melody. I believe the intent of this piece was communicated very well, giving the readers a story of true love and how powerful it can be. Even though the audience knew the ending of this story, they were still able to feel through the performance how much the characters had loved each other…
