In A Midsummer Night’s Dream the green world is about love and the power, or more, magic of it. Shakespeare creates an interesting balance in this green world. By introducing magic and the supernatural into the forest he allows his characters to experience extraordinary things. For example, becoming a donkey, but because almost every character in the forest is bewitched he limits their personal freedom. The characters are not allowed to make decisions for themselves. They are forced to come to these conclusions and accept these parts of themselves. For Oberon he is forced to recognize that he enjoys arguing and having his wife’s attention more than getting his way. Which can be argued, why he placed the spell on her anyway. He believed what he wanted was just the changeling boy, but in actuality, he wanted his wife’s attention and affection. We leave the play with Oberon having changed personally, but with the hope that his and Titania’s relationship made
