William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet. The works of William Shakespeare have been performed in countless countries and cities. “Though no birth records exist, church records indicate that a William Shakespeare was baptized at Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon on April 26, 1564” (William Shakespeare). William was the third child of six. There is very little on his education but “scholars have surmised that he most likely attended the King's New School, in Stratford, which taught reading, writing and the classics”(William Shakespeare). This school must have been very prestige since he came such a good witter in his future. Shakespeare most likely attended until about age 16. …show more content…
Anne was 26 and William was 18, and they were already expecting their first child which was common back then. In the years ahead, Anne and the children lived in Stratford while Shakespeare worked in London. ¨Their daughter Elizabeth, Shakespeare's first grandchild, was born in 1608. In 1616, just months before his death, Shakespeare's daughter Judith married Thomas Quiney, a Stratford vintner¨(Shakespeare’s Life). The family sadly died out, leaving no direct descendants of Shakespeare. Much of his work is studied in schools as part of the curriculum, and there are hundreds of textbooks explaining the points and details of his works in simple English. William wrote many great stories in his life. ¨Shakespeare wrote most of his work between 1589 and 1613¨(Shakespeare’s Life). One of the most popular ones is Romeo and Juliet.
