Throughout the years, Shakespeare’s plays have been performed more than any other writer. This has allowed Shakespearean plays to have a huge impact on other works of literature. His work influenced each generation of poets and their writing. Shakespeare has been an inspiration to numerous novelist, poets, and performers. He even inspired the music industry and the movie industry. In fact, some authors even used “phrases from Shakespeare's works as titles for their own novels” (Mabillard). In addition to authors using his phrases for titles, musician have been known to use them for their song titles. There have also been a variety of Shakespeare’s play that movies are based off of. Contemporary writers were inspired by Shakespeare’s blank verses.
