I, William R. Waldorf, was born on February 21, 2004 in Kalamazoo, Michigan at Bronson Hospital. I have two parents, Sydney and Mac Waldorf. My parents told me I weighed 6 pounds 12 ounces. When they brought me home to Richland, they took a lot of pictures of me. In some of those pictures my chin has a W rubbed on to it. I find it weird that my first and last name both start with W and I had a W on my chin. As I got older, I started to experience more and more things.
When I was a toddler, my younger brother, Charles R. Waldorf, was born. He was born on February 6, 2006 at Bronson Hospital. We call him Charlie. Soon after Charlie was born, I started preschool at the Richland Montessori School. I also started to get into sports like A.Y.S.O soccer and gymnastics. I loved sports so much I started doing summer ones.

I hunt with my family sometimes, but mostly I hunt alone with my dad. I hunt for deer and pheasant. We eat the animals that we kill and venison is my favorite. Before I could kill any animals, I had to take a hunter’s safety course. In the course we used guns to shoot clays and targets. I prefer to shoot a compound bow or crossbow. I have a compound bow of my own and my family shares a crossbow. I practice shooting the bows a lot in my backyard during fall/hunting season. I love hunting, but soccer is another sport I really love.
I play soccer for Kingdom. Kingdom is a fun team to play on. As a player on the Kingdom team, I meet new kids, train at practices and have training sessions for 1 hour and 30 minutes. At practice we work on plays and at training sessions we work on moves and footwork. Playing on this team has shown me to never give up and play hard. On my team we win, lose, and tie. No matter what we never give up. I love playing for Kingdom and will always remember my experience

Thanks to my parents migrating from Mexico to the U.S., I had the opportunity to be raised in South Texas or, as locals call it, “el valley”. Growing up in el valley is different than growing up anywhere else in America. The community is made up of primarily Hispanic Spanish-speakers who live in lower-class neighborhoods. At an early age most children from the area, including myself, are taught a skill that is valuable in today’s society, which is being bilingual. I recall going to school where I spoke English and then going home where I spoke Spanish.…
