William Higinbotham was born on October 25, 1910 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. His father was a Presbyterian minister. He also had a brother and a sister. Growing up William never lost a game of ping pong. This was probably why the first video game that he made was called tennis for two. William earned his undergraduate degree at Williams College in 1932. He later continued his studies at Cornell University. At Cornell, he studied physics. Later William worked on the radar system at MIT from 1941 to 1943. William was generally a pretty smart guy.
