Infrared waves is an electromagnetic radiations of a wavelength and or colour.They are usually between 740 nanometers. 1 millimeter is equals to 1 million nanometers. Human eyes can't detect on the red side of a rainbow. William Herschel is the person who first discovered infrared around 1800.

Everyday we are surrounded by infrared waves. warm stuff stuff like the human body produce a large amount of infrared and cctv cameras can detect human bodies from the .infrared produced from the human body. The energy produced from the sun 5o percent of it is infrared so the human body is given infrared all the time.

The most known use of infrared is in remote controls, the remote control sends infrared pulses to the tv as if it spells out a message.
