Harrison’s father wanted his son to become a doctor and practice in medicine, although Harrison wasn’t driven to the medical field. Harrison decided to get a career in the military. Since Harrison’s family, was very close to the Washington family he used his family connections to earn a rank in the infantry division. Harrison went in the military as the lowest rank and retired as a lieutenant.
