William Flake was born in Orangeburg, SC. Ever since he was a child he wanted to be an engineer. After spending the first six years of his life in Orangeburg, he moved to Goose Creek with his family and attended Stratford High School.
During high school, William played varsity football under Coach Stackely. He was inducted into Tau Beta Pi, an engineering honor society. Most of his extracurricular activities involved several honor societies and dating girls. After high school, he was accepted into the University of South Carolina to study Chemical Engineering. Outside of school, William enjoys hunting, golf, scuba diving, fishing and attending athletic events.
