Revenge In Othello

English Playwright and poet, William Congreve wrote “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” This quote is a direct way to explain the struggle of the women in Othello. There are two women in Othello who a share a common problem. Emilia’s husband and Desdemona’s husband do not treat them the way they would like to be treated. They bond over this common problem. However, this leads to more problems as their relationship gets tested. A recurring theme in Othello is revenge. Revenge is the catalyst that sets off a chain of events in Othello. As we explore the theme of revenge, similarities and differences between the characters pursuits will be brought to the surface.

Cassio finds the tissue, and he solicits Bianca to make a duplicate from it. In an attack of envy, since she trusts that this cloth is proof that Cassio has another partner, Bianca makes a scene before Cassio, Othello, and others to declare that she won 't duplicate “some minx 's token” (Shakespeare, 4.1). Othello perceives the cloth as Desdemona 's, which sets his doubts that Desdemona and Cassio are taking part in an extramarital entanglements.

A standout amongst the most intriguing parts of Emilia is her theory on marriage. In spite of the fact that Emilia was beforehand blamed for having an unsanctioned romance with Othello, her activities all through the play depict a dependable and fair lady. She is surely faithful to Iago when she gives him Desdemona 's cloth, in spite of her nature to return it to Desdemona.
