After the success of his first album, Rock the House (1990), Smith fell into a large debt from spending too much of his earnings. He decided to pursue a career in acting in order to climb out of his financial problem. This was the beginning of his acting career. An actor, a producer, a rapper, Will Smith is one of the most prosperous people in the entertainment business.
Willard Christopher Smith Jr. was born on September 25, 1968 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to his mother Caroline and father Willard C. Smith. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School then later Overbrook High School. His likeable personality earned him the nickname “Prince Charming” which he later changed to “The Fresh Prince.” According to biography.com, “Smith began rapping at the age of twelve,” using big names like Grandmaster Flash to influence his style while adding a comedic touch.
