You got a dream, you gotta protect it. When people can’t do something themselves, they are going to tell you that you can’t do it. You want something, go get it. Period.” Which is showing that you can’t let other people get in the way of your goal. Anyone who puts down your dream/goal should only motivate you to do better as a person. An example, in the video Will talked about his only fear, being afraid to do something, Will loathes being afraid to do something. Which is exactly why he attacks his fears. Will is extremely adept, and begins to attack the things he feared. In fact, Mr.Smith states “I think I learned very young to attack fear. There are tons of things that I’m scared of—it’s frustrating to me when I’m scared of something, so I’m forced to go and attack it. It’s been helpful, but it’s been painful.” Statistical trends demonstrate that his highest grossing film was “Independence Day” at $817

In GPS 1010, I have learned that a person’s mindset is established in (1) a particular way of thinking; or (2) a person’s attitude and set of opinions about something. In addition to these items, one can either have a growth mindset or a fixed mindset. These mindsets play a huge role in one’s success or failure. The mindset has “two meanings to ability, not one: a fixed ability that needs to be proven and a changeable ability that can be developed through learning” and repetition. To sum up, “the fixed mindset makes you concerned with how you’ll be judged; the growth mindset makes you concerned with improving.”…

As for me I believe that I have a growth mindset or an “incremental theory.” I believe that intelligence can increase and that the encounters that I many come across become opportunities for personal growth. For example, last semester when I would get frustrated for not doing so good on an assignment my professor would always say “there is always room for improvement, don’t give up.” When my professor said those words it gave me some kind of hope that I really can do this if I just put forth the effort and motivation. So knowing I could do better I would go to a tutor or ask the professor for their opinion on what I needed to do to improve.…
