Most of those titles came during the reign of Sir Alex Ferguson, who won a whopping 13 titles from 1986 to 2013. After he retired, though, the club went on a downward spiral, finishing 7th in the league after appointing David Moyes as manager and firing him after 10 months in charge. That is when Louis van Gaal arrived. Having arrived after a period of agony, bringing titles from Ajax from Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich of Germany, van Gaal’s hiring was a huge sigh of relief for all Man United fans. The manager’s paycheck wouldn’t come in the mail without the fans. The club in a sense is run by the fans. Louis van Gaal hasn’t listened to the fans of Manchester United. They want the club to play attacking soccer, scoring goals, and entertaining the crowd. Manchester United fans have conveyed their opinions many times. In a 1-0 loss to Southampton, Manchester United fans booed and whistled (the European equivalent to booing) the players and manager as the left the field, because they only had one shot on target and had one of the poorest displays of soccer from any Manchester United team. They have also walked out of games that the are losing due to the poor playing

Money Pit “It’s reminiscent of a shark that will die if it doesn’t keep moving and ripping little fish to shreds”, says Mark Lebovich of the New York Times. American Football has become a religion. American Football is everywhere and seems to be governed by some Constitution-like power. “The sport provides a belief system at a time when faith in so many community institutions - government, religion, actual families – is weakening.” Currently the league faces many challenges such as player health and safety, drop in youth-football participation, lawsuits and keeping the model that football was built on alive.…

With every given topic in every aspect of life, there are two sides: for and against. There is always a congregation of those who support the said topic, accompanied alternatively by those who hold opposing views. When addressed with the topic of the safety of football, many will argue that the game is safe because it is a very popular mass cultural pastime among many traditional American families. In my opinion, football is among some of the most dangerous sports that exist. The dangers of football include, but are definitely not limited to, unnecessary roughness, both on and off the field, numerous accounts of injuries, some being life-threatening, and various life long effects on the players.…

    1. The field was hardly a field- grass only grew in disconnected patches and the ground was unleveled- there was no equipment, no coaches, only a group of ten-year-old boys staring directly at me. The leaders and soccer balls were nowhere to be found, yet I- the one who had not played organized soccer or more like organized bench sitting since eight grade- had to think of how I could lead a soccer practice for ninety minutes. I needed to be creative.…

My soccer team was together for a very long time and we were all great friends. As we kept getting older we needed more girls to have enough to play and they always fit right in with us and got to know us very well. That changed this fall when the team split. None of us were happy, at least six or seven girls quit playing soccer and I was one of them. A few girls went to different clubs but the rest went to CBSC ( Council Bluffs Soccer Club) but I didn’t because I’m not a big fan of soccer anymore. After getting hurt all the times I did in soccer I realized that it's not worth it if you’re going to be out for a third of the season and if your injury makes you miss out on other sports.…

In the days that followed the president issued a series of tweets reiterating his views and calling for a fan boycott of games” (The Associated Press). Donald Trump using his platform as president in this matter is inevitably creating this conception of “A Nation Divided”. This statement is forcing society to take either the side of President Donald Trump’s dislike of the protest or the side of “Sports United”. This symbolically gestures that due to Donald Trump’s superior influential platform that his declarations and positions take precedence over that of professional athletes. Although, The Associated Press presents the audience with these two colliding views they still make it evident that you should be educated on each side of the spectrum, “racial injustice and police mistreatment of African-Americans has become obscured by the narrower issue of how to act during the anthem.…
