Will County is located in the northern part of the state of Illinois and one of the five collar counties of the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin, IL-IN-WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. Will County is served by four US Interstate Highways, four US Highways, and twelve Illinois Highways. Four different Metra commuter rail lines (Metra Electric Main Line, Southwest Service, Rock Island District and Heritage Corridor) connect the parts of the county with the Chicago Loop.

The Illiana Expressway, proposed to connect I-65 in Indiana to I-55 in Will County, IL would enhance access to Will County’s Inland Port.
