The lack of people caring is not only affecting us humans in how we treat each other but also other environments around us. The lack of caring by humans is causing innocent lives that cannot talk or defend themselves to die. These beings are animals. Animals are being affected by us not caring about what happens to them our selfish acts are the cause of their deaths. Wildlife extinction has gotten worse because of pollution, but the lack of humans caring has been the biggest cause. Humans have stopped caring about mass extinction. Many people believe this issue is only for the rich who have money in order to contribute to organizations or groups who are currently fighting mass extinction. The fact is that extinction is on the rise according to Westcott an author of a CNN article he is saying that the “More than two thirds of the world 's wildlife could be gone by the end of the decade if action isn 't taken soon” (Westcott, 2016, para. 1). This means that there could be almost no animals left in the end of this decade which would be the year 2020. This is vital information because the end of this decade is not in nine years, it is only four years away. The rapid extinction of animals is upon us and if action is not taken it can be catastrophic not only for the wildlife, but also humans. The list of soon to be extinct animals is on the rise day by day. On the World Wildlife Fund they have a long list of endangered species. A few of these animals are the orangutan, Asian Elephant, Chimpanzee, Tiger, and Whale (Species List, 2016). These animals that people might be familiar with could soon be gone forever and travelling to a zoo to see them will only be a myth. Current teens will tell their kids one day how chimpanzee’s roamed in zoo’s, how they would see them physically and now they are gone forever. This is the current situation in our world, these animals that people can call common animals could soon be gone just like the dinosaurs; only have their fossils.
