Wildlife Biologist Research Paper

Many people think being a wildlife biologist is a breeze-they get to spend time with animals all day, right? Not quite. Wildlife biologists have to perform an essential job, which isn't just playing with animals. One of their main priorities is to study animals and wildlife. “They study the physical characteristics of animals, animal behaviors, and the impacts humans have on wildlife and natural habitats” (“Zoologists and Wildlife Biologists”). For example, a Wildlife Biologist studies how a species reproduces, and their interactions with others. A Wildlife Biologist would spend a good amount of time studying these things out in the field, where they also gather data and study the animals in their natural habitat. For starters, if someone planned on pursuing this career they’d need at least a bachelor's degree. “Ideally [one must] pursue a major in wildlife biology or zoology”. (“Wildlife Biologist Careers”).Other majors could be General Biology and Animal Science. However, if these majors aren't available, other fields such as Ecology may be acceptable. “Higher degrees, like a Master's or Doctoral degree, may increase chances for career advancement” (“Zoologist and Wildlife Biologist”). This is because the job market is extremely competitive. Although, having a higher degree won't only increase the career advancement chances. Having a higher degree would also allow higher level work and opportunities. “Zoologists and Wildlife Biologists typically need at least a Master's degree for higher level investigative or scientific work.A Ph.D. is necessary for the majority of independent research positions and for university positions” (“Zoologists and Wildlife Biologists”). Having a better education could open up a series of new opportunities and jobs. There are also classes in high school could be further prepare someone for their education. Some recommended classes that you could take in high school are biology, chemistry, algebra, environmental science, and english. Choosing a specific group to work towards may also be helpful.
