“Click, click, click!” The life jackets sounded throughout the woods. My family and I were in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. And we were going to swim in a stalactites filled, fresh water, cave! It was cool to try something new, but I was also nervous and hesitant, because it was a dark cave. “Let’s go!” A man yelled who was wearing a big pair of goggles. We all headed down the yucky, old, wooden stairs.
“Don’t fall, don’t fall!” I whispered to myself.
“You're okay.” My mom responded sounding like I was crazy.
Once we got down the stairs, we heard a high pitched screeching noise. I jumped ten feet when I heard it. Then I realized what it was. It was the scary small creature that flies around at night.
BATS! They were bats! Terrifying black bats hovered above our heads ready to land somewhere without access to the bright yellow lights

That made me nervous. Why were there bats in the cave? But that would be the first time I would ever see a bat flying. To be honest it was pretty cool. BUT SCARY!
After learning about the bats, we were finally able to go in the bone-chilling water.
“CH-CH-CH!” My teeth started to chatter like crazy, I thought they would fall out.
I began to shiver and shake and everyone else around me was shaking too. The water kept getting colder and colder as I shrank down into the sparkling but freezing water. But soon which felt like ages I wasn't cold anymore and I couldn’t be anymore happier but then something rained on my parade.
Without warning, I slammed my ankle on a jagged rock! The pain shot up my leg like a rocket! It felt like the world’s strongest man was pulling my ankle apart. I began to hold my leg while I tried to stand up in the deep water, but the water was too deep for me to stand so I just tried to keep swimming but it was to hard.
“OW!” I screeched.
“Watch out for the rocks!” The guide told
