Widget Wonders Case Study Summary

The purpose of this case report is to detail, to the best of the consultants knowledge hardware recommendations for Widget Wonders. This new facility will house a manufacturing area as well as a distribution center. There are five departments that are expanding, sales, manufacturing, inventory control, research and development and MIS. Due the experience of the consultants, they choose Dell as the main brand for supplying the IT room with data and application servers, laptops for the sales department, manufacturing department, inventory control, research and development and MIS department. They will also supply monitors for the research department for the CAD designers.
The sales department consists of 50 employee’s needs 100% mobility and to have the ability for accessing the company’s resources as well as having the ability to conduct presentations at a client’s site. The consult chooses the Dell Latitude 15 5000 series 64 bit laptop with the 5th Generation Intel Core i7 processor, 15.6” HD screen, 8GB of DDR3L 1600MHz memory, 500GB hard drive and Intel dual band wireless-AC network card (Dell, 2015).
