Creativity “is an acquired behavior-learnable, teachable, tangible, and crucial to human development” (Balkin, 1990). Many find creativity to be a trait that can be learned and therefore it is important to discuss how it can be learned. We see that skills in the arts are taught to people. Artists such as musicians are taught to compose and create new music. At this point it is important to differentiate between creativity and talent because “creativity and talent are not equivalent .” (Balkin, 1990). This theory focuses more on the intellect of a person because if one is smart enough they are able to learn to create. Many more factors play into this theory. Such as, the quality of education plays a role in determining if a person is able to learn creativity. This theory puts a lot of emphasis on techniques on learning
