Writing From The Heart Reflection

I’ve never been a person to do the healthy thing when it came to my emotions. Sharing, the only thing the entire planet seems to believe can cover up what plagues your mind. This is a reason why writing from the heart is a task that everyone can find to be a hurdle, from aspiring writers to a student tasked with the endeavor of doing just that. During the writing process a slew of memories that trigger the deepest human emotions come forth. In my case, there is little of those emotions left to be triggered. This made sharing an experience from my past particularly more difficult. The point of this assignment was to step out of your comfort zone. That is why I made the choice to write about a more negative experience. The process of conveying certain emotions a challenge. Recalling the events of the past wasn’t the main challenge for me, no the main challenge was finding the time to catalog the events without an unwanted and poorly timed interruption. It was determination, not folding when the cards clearly weren 't in my favor. As Sherman Alexie has said in Superman and Me, “I was trying to save my life”. Unfortunately for me unlike Alexie the was no figurative Superman to help me. Yet I managed to save myself, through my own methods. I may not have shared my problems with other to find a solution, but I have reached one. The real question to ask is do we risk the danger of hurting ourselves more by attempting to fix the problem, or do we allow it to grow? Sadly there is no easy answer. Fixing an issue could just as easily cause more issues which no one desires. The most logical choice I could make was whether they be internal and plague your mind or just another simple minded toxic member of the collective human hive mind and just won’t allow you to be who you truly
