Decent Essays
Many people disagree with the above statement, but personally I agree that smoking should be banned in and around workplaces, why you may ask? Its unhealthy, unprofessional and smoking causes many health problems.

My first reason to back this issue up is since 1964 approximately 2,500,000 non smokers have died from health problems caused by exposure to second hand smoke, so that means other employees who are non-smokers have to suffer. There are also many other health problems caused by second hand smoke such as; heart disease, lung cancer and strokes.

Secondly, it looks unprofessional for the business, you have people dressed professionally working for you, which means they are presenting your business/company, do you really want people

Regulations can become controversial when a somebody disagrees with the new rule put in place. This can particularly be difficult when talking about smoking regulations. Many argue that individuals should be able to have the freedom to do as they please because tobacco use regulations can hinder their individual rights. If I were Marcia I would vote for the law to be implemented since it wouldn't do any harm to people and smokers will be able to use an area set aside for tobacco users. In my opinion, I think a state should be allowed to regulate where smokers smoke because the state believes that the public is at risk for health problems due to second-hand smoking (Clune). The Public health officials have argued that the bans are implemented to "eliminate dangers" from secondhand, or “sidestream smoke,” which will reduce the environmental impact of cigarette butts and keep the young away from picking up bad habits they see in public (Clune). Many bars do suffer from the smoking ban and have filed lawsuits against the ban, I do believe businesses should have…
