Millions have died from smoking cigarettes, yet they’re still sold at stores. The same goes with alcohol, people constantly buy liquor knowing it causes medical issues and death, but they don’t care. Making it legal would save our government a lot of money. Police chase after people who happen to like to release stress by getting high, they send these people to jail and the taxpayers have to pay for the bill. Citizens have to pay for food, health care, and court costs, paying for all of that is expensive! We could save billions of dollars every year if they stop arresting people for marijuana. In fact, if marijuana was legal, the government would be able to collect taxes on it and would get more money for drug education programs. Instead of police being after people who are in possession of marijuana, they should worry about those people who have other dangerous and deadly drugs.
All anybody would ever want is to live somewhere peaceful and not dangerous, legalizing marijuana might actually help our environment become a better place. People no longer have to be somewhere in private to smoke, they can do it out in the public without any worries. Another reason why it would cause a better environment would be less crimes. There are crimes committed thanks to marijuana, it might be gang problems, or having it in possession. It would make our community safer and
