Drug abuse occurs in all sports and at most levels of competition. Many athletes take drugs for different reasons, some or prescribe by a doctor, or drugs you can by over the counter. Athletic life may lead to drug abuse for a number of reasons, physical pain due to injuries, stress, and the biggest factor to help performance enhancement. Most Organizations that oversee professional sports test future athletes that are going to play for their teams for drug abuse, before they can even play the attended sport. Organizations even have random drug test on athletes that are already active players as well. Athletes that do take drugs have their own personal reasons why the take them, but no drug should be worth your career.
Drug testing is mandatory it is part of the complete physical you have every year before you can play any type of sports. Many people disagree with Organizations drug testing they feel as if it shouldn’t matter as long as the athlete is delivering the right ability to play the sport. Which I disagree drug abuse is very dangerous it does not matter what type of drug it is. Drug abuse can eventually lead to addiction and when addiction occurs you will have to seek professional help to stop using the particular drug.

Many sports organizations have come to ban the use of performance-enhancing drugs and have very strict consequences for people caught using them. You could be dropped from the team and it will be hard for another team to want to hire you. You could lose medals, titles that would affect you and your team. Most athletes that use drugs don’t see anything wrong with it, because they are only concerned about the positive effects of the drug instead of the negative. If the drug is making you more competitive and giving more muscle and your outer appearance looks good, of course it going to be hard to see the damage you’re really doing to your
