The author’s reasoning is sound because the author didn’t just say why this point was correct but also said why the other sides claim was wrong. Claiming that cell phone should be banned from schools, the author states that cell phones not being banned in schools for safety reasons is unnecessary and explained further by saying “This philosophy is comparable to claiming weapons should be aloud in school to prevent after school attacks.” (School Policies, 2008). School Policies also explain that since kids are more rebellious, more disrespectful and more undisciplined, parents should be restricting cellphone use instead of encouraging it. The article even stated that cell phones are causing more bad behavior in kids and causing distractions

The central idea of the article “Should children get to have cellphones in elementary school?,” written by Donna St. George discusses the highs and lows of having a cellphone in Elementary school. In fact, it is stated how "It's definitely a trend we're seeing at younger levels – being allowed to bring cellphones on campus," (St. George, paragraph 6). Although this might not be a good thing it is a big trend and we do see cellphones everywhere, for younger kids and even some older ones it could be a temptation for cellphones to be on campus. Another detail shown is "To expect a child to turn it off – and not touch it when it's in his backpack – is a lot to ask for a 7-year-old," (St. George, paragraph 10). In addition to the temptation, children…

I think phones should be allowed in school, we may not have to be on them all the time but we should at least be able to have them incase we need to call someone or if we have free time in a class we could play games, listen to music, or use google, dictionary.com, and an example of is our history book is online and at school sometimes there’s not enough chromebooks or Ipads. Mobile devices are kind of like a drug that children, teens, and young adults can’t seem to put down and that’s not always a good thing. The reason this isn’t always a good thing is because some kids don’t go outside and play, hang out with friends or know how the real world works, most kids would rather play video games and be in a virtual world. The kids that are so addicted to electronics end up nowhere because they don’t know how to deal with real people in life. In article #1 it says “ Lets turn this into a learning device and maybe eventually teens will see it more than just a device for entertainment.”…

Students should not be aloud to have their phone out in class or at school. If they have their phone out it could cause them to not listen, and it will just make a big distraction. It is ok if kids are just listening to music and are able to listen to the directions the teachers gives, but most can’t do that because they are distracted. They should put their phone away and listen when the teacher is talking, or just leave it at home so they can concentrate, and when they do have there phone out they can text there parents to come and get them because “they don’t feel good”. When the teacher is talking and a student has their phone out they should put it away so they know what to do.…

Using cell phones in school has always been a constant topic for students and staff in school districts. There are some school districts that are about eighty percent technology and only twenty percent in class teachings; which means that many schools are starting to like and appreciate how useful technology can be. Schools are gaining money for not using as much electricity in classrooms simply because classrooms are not being used as often with the switching to technology and having online classes. Cell phones and other technological items have been banned in schools, but now many school districts are now allowing students to use their phones to take tests, learn things that cannot be seen, and hardly be in the classroom because of online classes…
