Whether or not teachers should be armed is rather disputable, with a lot of information to support both sides. People argue that school teachers should be armed with a firearm for defense purposes and to potentially save their own lives as well as students' lives in the event of a school shooting. They believe that with the proper training and authority, this change in schools could save many lives. Others believe that arming teachers would create more danger in schools and instead of decreasing the number of deaths due to school shootings, that number would rise. They think that not only should firearms not be brought into schools because of its distraction to education, but that teachers in possession of a firearm would create accidental …show more content…

This argument to arm teachers raises a whole set of issues and challenges to be taken seriously. First and foremost is the massive financial and logistical costs that the policy would entail.
