My first reason why i don’t support the ban is because pitbulls are mistaken for other dog breeds. Two primary examples are the American Bulldog and the Boxer. For example in the news paper editorial it states that “News outlets erroneously report dog attacks. If a dogs breed is unknown, news media will often call it a pitbull.” And later in the text it says, “Even if it is later revealed that the dog was not in fact a pitbull, the damage is done, and the idea of the pitbull as a dangerous breed is reinforced …show more content…
Once again , in the news paper editorial the following is said, “News outlets consistently tell animal control officers that they would not cover a dog attack unless the situation involves a pitbull.” They say this so clearly as if they are trying to give pitbulls a bad reputation on purpose. So in my part the reason pitbulls have bad reputation with the media is because the news only reports pitbull attacks. Thus, it’s it news outlets fault they have such bad ‘reputation’.
And my last and concluding reason is that i’ve had personal experience with one. In fact when I came into contact with a pitbull that was my friends, it was completely harmless! This is because my friend had trained the dog to be harmless to people and other animals like dogs. In my opinion it’s the owners fault that the pitbulls have the title ‘vicious’. The owner should train the dog so accidents wouldn’t happen.
