Several people believe that schools should only serve nutritious drinks. Those people are wrong. You should believe that schools should not only serve nutritious drinks because it gives the choice to occasionally drink a soda, it teaches students to make the right decision, and it accurately resembles the real world.

First of all, schools should not only serve nutritious drinks because it gives you the chance to occasionally drink a soda. You should believe this is right because occasionally it is nice to eat or drink something sweet and crisp. For example, people feel a craving for a soda, however, if schools fail to serve them, they cannot solve their issue. Also, they taste delightful! They are a crisp, sweet, cold, and refreshing delicacy! Another reason is that having a soda every once and awhile is not unhealthy for you. It only has approximately 7 to 12 grams of sugar per bottle. However, having too much soda is terrible for you. That is why, if the school tracks the amount of sodas each student has, they can limit how much they drink each week, preventing them from having too much.

You should believe this because in the real world outside of school, if you wish to eat something unhealthy, you can! For example, in the real world outside of school, nobody will limit what you can eat or drink. Also, they will not only serve nutritious drinks in the work world, and if that is what students become accustomed to, it will be more tempting when they grow up to drink soda. Another example is that in the real world you have to decide on conflicts. A few examples of this are how you spend your time, who to assign to a work project, what to eat, and when it is ok to eat

If we don’t start making efforts to improve health in public schools, and the kids of today keep consuming the excessive amounts of soda and other garbage at the rate they do now, they’re going to pass down their unhealthy dieting habits to their children, just like the Baby Boomers and Generation X did to the current two generations to a lesser extent. We don’t want to ruin the health of future generations too, do we? At this rate, they’re already doomed. The final point I need to bring up is the fact that the idea of a soda machine in a school is entirely contradictory to the purpose of school to begin with.…

Schools are required to make their lunches healthier, whether they have to add fruits and vegetables, to taking food away and lowering the serving amount they give kids. Many students, parents, lawmakers, and administrators say that eating as healthy as the government wants is too costly and that it does not provide enough flexibility for the students. Schools want to make their lunches healthier, because they are trying to lower childhood obesity, because 17% of the children and adolescents are considered obese. Since 1980, obesity rates have tripled for those groups.…

The reason large soda cups should be banned is due to the fact that it is a very sugary drink, which is one reason for obesity. A 32oz cup of soda has about 104 grams of sugar, as mention by Casey Neistat in “Casey Neistat soda ban.” “Casey Neistat Soda Ban” is a video made by Neistat himself, which explains the amount of sugar, a certain size of cup has, and how many places are not affected by the soda ban. Certain kids have different experiences with their school’s lunches, but it’s safe to assume that the majority of children do not enjoy them one bit. At a school in LA, one child says “The healthier it gets the more disgusting it is” which is just another reason why healthy school lunches are not a good idea. Some children at the school can barely describe what “it” is. Kids want to eat what tastes good, not what tastes like garbage, no matter how good it is for them. It’s not just the taste though; it’s the serving size as well.…
