Why We Should Not Keep Animals In Captivity

There has been many zoos in the past but did you know that recently scientist have found remains of a zoo in egypt. Many scientist believe that egypt had the very first zoo in 3500 bc and this zoo contain baboons, elephants, and hippos. Now Zoos have been around for a long time and it is amazing that we have just discover a zoo that is believed to exist in 3500 bc. The first few zoos that where well known started in the 1950s but during that time there weren't very many animals in zoos at the time and the zoos where very small. Also to bring in money many zoos used to double as amusement parks and some still do today. Now today many zoos are much larger and hold many more animals and tend to be visited by about 175 million people per year and are a very popular source of entertainment. Or should we even have animals in zoos at all? Despite all the questions asked many people believe that we should keep zoos around and continue to keep wild animals in captivity as pets or something to stare at but there are also many who believe that because of the animals mistreatment that we should not keep animals in captivity and that we should stop keeping animals as pets that are not meant to and that we should stop keeping them in zoos.
