Firstly, many people have seen their fair share of hard times when it comes to money. There are people who are more fortunate than others, and have more opportunities when it comes to education. Likewise, there are people in the world who are less fortunate than others; therefore, they must find it difficult to find time to get their four-year high school education all while trying to bring in money to the household. Some of these issues involve their family/home lives, and they can really delay their education. For example, if a senior in high school has a terminally ill mother, a father who works 50+ hours every week, and three younger siblings, this teen must take responsibility of his younger siblings and make sure their day to day lives do not change. This could become an issue for the teen and his school time. In this case, he should be given the option to opt out of public education and possibly pursue an alternative program to finish his high school education. Some may argue that there are many programs for households that struggle with childcare and finances, but many of these programs cost money that is simply not feasible for said families. To reiterate, a person’s home life can affect their school life to the point where it would not be beneficial for them to remain in
