Why We Should Not Be Required To Take A Music A Drama

Some people believe students should be required to take a music, a drama, or an art class. I believe classes that require a specific skill should be considered an elective. It is unfair to make a student take a class on a subject they know nothing about; it could lower their GPA. I believe students should not be required to take a music, a drama, or an art class because students should not be forced into a class they are not interested in, students should be more focused on classes that benefit their future, and students should be more in charge of their schedule decisions. Students should not be forced into a class on subjects that does not interest them. It would be hard for the students to learn and understand something they are not interested in. Especially when starting high school. A student who is wanting an advanced diploma will need all of the necessary credits to graduate, thus, taking a class of the arts would not be beneficial for the student. Taking classes to benefit one’s future should be a priority. The student needs to be more in control with their schedule. They should be more focused on classes they will need to help them in the future. If the student does not want to take a class of the arts, he or she should be allowed to change his or her classes. The student should be in classes that would best benefit them his or her job perspectives. However, I understand others may think students should be required to take a music, art, or drama class. It would be a way for students to express themselves. It might also teach them to be more self-confident. They could also benefit from learning an artistic skill.
